A little bit about me
Thank you so much for checking out my medium! I am both excited and nervous to share my perspective on some of the most pressing issues of our time. Before I started with the heavier topics, I wanted to take some time to introduce myself and what I want to do with this space.
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and I will remind you every chance that I get. After high school, I moved to Washington DC to pursue my education at Thee Howard University and have spent my time on the east coast ever since.
For the last 13 years, I have spent my life figuring out how I want to use my time and talents to help eradicate all systems of oppression. I am especially interested in black feminist activism and all of the ways black women and girls civically engage to help better our lives.
I am a serious candle lover, a fan of therapy and stimulating conversations.
As someone that lives with anxiety and struggles with imposter syndrome, this platform is intended to help me grow, lean into my voice and gain community through discourse. I hope that I can provide some new perspectives on old issues and get us steps closer to the world that we all deserve. I also hope to challenge myself and my thinking in the process.
I hope this is the start of a long and productive blogger-reader relationship!
